I’ve been fairly critical of Facebook’s increasingly frightening role in the duopoly in digital advertising since early on, both in industry publications and longer-form content, but another collaboration with Tim Hwang in California Review of Images and Mark Zuckerberg enabled me to put voice to a unique moment in the transfer of power from traditional advertising to technology platforms by going in depth on Mark Zuckerberg’s first-ever address to the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in 2010.
